We will exchange Valentine cards Wednesday, February 13th. If you are sending Valentine cards, we ask that you have your child only write “from (his or her name)” on the card. Registration for the 2019 – 2020 School Year
Registration for next year will begin February 1st. For your convenience, we have attached information and registration forms with this newsletter. We encourage you to register your child early. As well, we would appreciate you sharing this information with your friends, neighbours and family to spread the word about our preschool. Yearly surveys we conduct indicate you are our most effective form of advertising. Thank you.
Take Home Teddy
Our “Take Home Teddy” program with the children will continue this month. Each child will be given the opportunity to take the class teddy, “Mac” home for a weekend. Please include Mac in all your weekend plans and then write or draw in Mac’s journal how he spent his weekend. Kindly bring Mac back on Monday morning and we will share Mac’s weekend adventures with the class during circle time.
Scholastic Book Orders
We are excited to provide you once again with an opportunity to order books from the Scholastic Reading Club. Please bring your book orders in to the school no later than Wednesday, February 13th. Parents you can now also order online at scholastic.ca/canadaclubs and connect to our Preschool.
For your child’s birthday, if you would like to provide a snack for the preschool children to celebrate their birthday, please let one of the teachers or Kathy know. We will use your birthday snack as part of our preschool snack for that day.
As cold and flu season is upon us, we are taking this opportunity to remind parents that if your child is feeling under the weather or displaying signs of illness (runny nose, coughing, fever, etc.) to please keep them at home until they are feeling better.
We would appreciate if you would notify the preschool if your child is going to be away or is ill. You can contact us at 403.281.6755.
We welcome parents to volunteer in the classroom. Please sign up on the calendar posted on the bulletin board outside the classroom doors. Occasionally we will ask parents to volunteer for special projects such as Christmas crafts, making playdoh or field trips. Even if you are unable to come into the classroom or volunteer for a special craft, we would still appreciate your support by praying for our children and teachers.
We will be conducting monthly fire drills. We have explained to the children we are just practicing in case there is ever a time when we need to leave the building quickly. Please take some time to chat with your child about this.
If you have had any changes in your contact information (business, home or cell numbers or an address change), would you kindly let us know so that we can update your information on your child’s registration from. We need to keep current information so that in the event of an emergency, we are able to reach you. Thank you.
For withdrawal from the preschool, we require written notice by the 1st of the month prior to the month you are leaving. For example, if you are withdrawing your child on December 15th, notice must be given on or before November 1st. Alternatively, one month’s fee is required to be paid in lieu of such notice. This policy will be strictly enforced.
