Happy New Year!
We hope you and your family had an enjoyable time off. We wish you all the best in 2023!
It was so nice to see all of you at the Concert. Your children did a wonderful job and we are so proud of them.
We are looking forward to a great beginning to the New Year. If you have any questions or concerns, please talk to Nicole, Tamzen or myself.
Scholastic Book Orders
We are excited to provide you with an opportunity to order books from the Scholastic Reading Club. Please bring your book orders to the school no later than Monday, January 23rd. Parents you can also order online at www.scholastic.ca/readingclub and use the Class Code RC147114 for our Preschool.
“Bedhead/Crazy Hair” Day
On Friday, January 27th, we are going to have a “BEDHEAD/CRAZY” Hair Day at Preschool. We encourage the children to come to school that day with their ‘bedhead’ hair or use their imagination and come with their hair done in a “CRAZY” style. Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Take Home Teddy
We will be starting our “Take Home Teddy” program with the children this month. Each child will be given the opportunity to take the class teddy, “Mac” home for a weekend. Please include Mac in all your weekend plans and then write or draw in Mac’s journal how he spent his weekend. Kindly bring Mac back on Monday morning and we will share Mac’s weekend adventures with the class during circle time.
And just so you know, Mac and all his belongings get a “bath” in the washing machine after each child takes him home. So don’t worry about getting him dirty or Mac sharing germs between the children. Let the children love and include him to their full extent!
Contact Information
If you have had any changes in your contact information (business, home or cell numbers or an address change), would you kindly let us know so that we can update your information on your child’s registration form. We need to keep current information so that in the event of an emergency we are able to reach you.
Children’s Birthdays
For your child’s birthday, if you would like to provide a small snack (something simple) for the preschool children to celebrate their birthday, please let one of the teachers or Kathy know. We will supplement your birthday snack with some fruit or veggies as part of our preschool snack for that day.
Fire Drills
We will be conducting monthly fire drills. We have explained to the children we are just practicing in case there is ever a time when we need to leave the building quickly. Please take some time to chat with your child about this.
Volunteers
Parents are welcome to volunteer in the classroom. Your assistance is appreciated but certainly not compulsory. Occasionally we will ask parents to volunteer for special projects such as Christmas crafts, making playdoh or field trips. Even if you are unable to come into the classroom or volunteer for a special craft, we would still appreciate your support by praying for our children and teachers.
Absence/Illness
If your child will be absent for any reason, ill or away, please notify the preschool prior to class time. You can contact us at 403.281.6755, extension 227 or email both Kathy kathy@southcalgary.org and Nicole nicole@sccpreschool.ca.
Spaces Still Available
We still have spaces available for this school year. We would appreciate you sharing this information with your friends, neighbours, and family to spread the word about our preschool. Yearly surveys we conduct indicate you a
